FREE STREET TREES

In conjunction with the Point Pleasant Beach Shade Tree Commission, we will be offering a limited number of free street trees for Point Pleasant Beach property owners. Trees will be 8-12 feet tall at the time of planting and professionally planted at no cost to the property owner. Grants will be awarded based on the proposed site’s location, availability of an appropriate tree, and street aesthetics. Depending on the demand there may be a waiting list.

Are there overhead power lines?

Watering newly planted trees is critical. Are you able to water the tree weekly from April - October?

If not, will a hose be available for volunteers to help water?

For Streets With Sidewalks

Width of the planting area between the curb and sidewalk

If necessary, may the tree be planted in the front yard, 2-3 feet from the sidewalk?

For Streets Without Sidewalks

May the tree be planted in the public right-of-way, usually 8 feet from the roadway?
